"What stands in the way becomes the way." - Marcus Aurelius
This powerful quote from Marcus Aurelius, one of the greatest philosophers, reminds you that when you truly want something, no barrier can stop you.
In fact, the barrier becomes a catalyst where you want to overcome it at any cost.
You must have noticed it while playing a video game where a particular level is difficult—it doesn't make you pack the game and pick another one! Instead, it makes you want to overcome that challenge and go to the next level.
So, when something comes in your way, face it head-on. Try, try, and try again.
It's through trial and error that you'll find your path to your goal. Remember, the impediment to action advances action.
If you've heard the story of Wilma Rudolph, you'll know how she was born prematurely and suffered from polio as a child. She wore a leg brace and was told she would never walk again. Of course, she refused to accept this limitation. With her determination and physical therapy, she overcame her condition and went on to become a world-class sprinter.
Wilma Rudolph eventually won three gold medals at the 1960 Olympics, becoming the fastest woman in the world at the time. Her story exemplifies how insurmountable obstacles can become the very path to greatness.
There are many other stories that show that the bigger the obstacle, the bigger the determination of the person involved becomes, to get to their goal and growth.
So, each major challenge you face has the potential to bring out your greatest strengths and lead to your most significant successes.
Now, what if you don't have bigger obstacles? Does that mean your determination has to match the small size of your obstacle? Absolutely not.
Determination is not proportional to the size of the obstacle. You don't need to hit rock bottom to ignite that fire in your belly.
Even the smallest challenges can be met with a fierce resolve and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
It's your mindset and approach to overcoming hurdles in the path of the goals that matter most. By doing this, you build a habit of persistence and resilience. This habit will serve you well, preparing you for any future challenges, big or small.
The next time there's an obstacle in your path, see it as a catalyst for showing up again and again with determination and action, until you achieve your goal.
To your success,
Meenu
Thank you to those who write back to me. I am grateful for your encouragement, support and your questions. I learn a lot from your perspectives and your unique situations. Another huge thanks to those who sent a few topics they would like to read about. I'll definitely keep my commitment and write to address those curious questions and topics. I got back to some of you 1:1 and writing this message to those who I couldn't respond yet.
Business is going great and I am getting busier day by day. This newsletter is my attempt to reach to as many people as I can to keep my goal that I created for myself while I was creating my coaching philosophy in the coaching school. The goal of helping at least one million people! I don't think I can coach 1 million people 1:1 :) so I keep finding ways to reach to as many people as I can.
My 2024 goal was to branch out from B2C to B2B coaching as well. I spent last 5 months in creating a B2B offer to help leaders create a coaching culture in their organizations and help get their teams move away from survival mindset and to flourish individually and as a team. If you're curious to learn about the offering, message me and I'll update you all about it.
